Boring companies have boring names. Naming your company right is the most important way to get people’s attention and stand out from the crowd. When we first started working with City Trees, they were leaning towards catering to an urban customer base and they wanted to appeal to millennials with the colors, branding and name, yet they wanted to stay away from the standard words used for companies like “cannabis” as a descriptor, “premium quality” and an adjective, etc. We wanted a name that also carried a vibe and an energy that was both youthful, cool and fresh in comparison to other brands with similar target demographics. We came up with “City Trees” because after numerous meetings with the client, and a deep understanding of who they wanted to speak to and how they wanted to be branded…it encompassed the best of all worlds and gave us a unique description of the “cannabis” company without saying it outright. We then built the remainder of their brand around being a cross between the city life in downtown Las Vegas alongside the quiet life in the red rock mountains because when you have balance, you have both of those as part of your local Las Vegas lifestyle. This formed the basis for their logo, which captures lettering that pays tribute to urban city subway and street signs, as well as a logo mark that combines that letterform with a representation of the trees they sell.
